Order Definition –

Below is the definition of the word “Order” from my theme “Chaos & Order“. This word can be seen to be associated with calmness and predictability. An example of Order would be the police. The police install order into peoples everyday life ensuring safety and protection. This research will help me because now I have a broader knowledge of the word Order and will be able to better implement this into my project when I begin creating it.

Chaos Definition –

Below is the definition of the word “Chaos” from my theme “Chaos & Order” This word is closely associated with Panic and unpredictability making this word the complete opposite to “Order” and being related to acts of terrorism and anarchy.  This definition will help me to understand the meaning behind the word allowing me to effectively implement it into the product that I will be creating for this project

Below is a mind-map on my theme “Order & Chaos” I have split this mind map into three sections: Order(Blue), Chaos(Red), and Chaos through Order (Orange). I have split these into these sections because it will make it easier to understand when I am making mood boards on each topic, I will also be adding thing to this mind-map in the future when I get new ideas so It will also help me understand what I should add if I am missing something from a certain category or need to add more Chaos or Order to the project because I can look at the section that I need and add things that I have listed into the product.

Moodboards –

Order Characters Moodboard –

Here is a moodboard that I have made on characters that I believe fit into the order section rather than chaos. This moodboard consists of different types of characters and concepts of characters that I believe instil order and represent it, these include police officers, game/film characters and some religious representatives that I believe are representative of order and sustainability. I have made this mood board so that I can get a better idea of what these characters look like and to help me get ideas about what my characters should look or act like in my final product.

 

Order Enviroments Moodboard –

Here is a moodboard on environments that I believe represents order. This moodboard consists of different styled concepts of police stations, Churches and concepts for heaven and trees of life that I believe represent peace, safety and order. There are also some concepts of heavenly castles that I think also fit into this category. This research is going to help me when I start to think about the environment that surrounds the main focal points of my final product when I create it.

 

Order Games Moodboard –

Here is a moodboard that I have made based on games where the character has to instil order or protect it in some way. This moodboard consists of screenshots from games and game covers from games that the player has to go about an orderly business for example in the crew the player is a police officer that has been tasked with taking down a notorious street racing crew. I have made this moodboard because it will help me to look at some of the games that I have listed so that I can take ideas from them and put them into my final product.

Order Vehicles Moodboard –

Here is a moodboard that I based on the topic of vehicles that are inspired by order or used to pursue it. This moodboard includes multiple different concepts of futuristic police vehicles and some actual photos of vehicles that the police use to catch criminals, I have made this moodboard so that if I want to include vehicles into my game I can get some ideas on what they might look like and what to base them on.

 

Chaos Charcters Moodboard –

Here is a moodboard that I have made on the topic of chaotic characters that cause terror or panic and seek to destroy order. This moodboard consists of concepts of characters that represent death or the afterlife, there are also some pictures of characters from films and games that are considered the “Bad Guy” and cause terror and pain to innocent people and others. I have made this moodboard to help me in the future when I am thinking about the creation of the characters that will be in my final product.

 

 

Chaos Enviroments Moodboard –

Here is a moodboard on environments that are in chaos or represent the aftermath of a chaotic situation. This moodboard includes some concept art of dystopian environments including hell, the underworld and apocalyptic cities, There are also a few photos of abandoned streets and places that have been long abandoned and allowed to overgrow and be destroyed. I have made this moodboard so that when I am creating the environment for my product I can use this to get some ideas if I want and chaotic environment.

 

Chaos Games Moodboard –

Here is a moodboard that I have based on games that have a chaotic nature and destroy the order in each situation. This moodboard consists of screenshots from games and pictures of game covers that I believe to be chaotic and without order, An example of this is the Saints Row series where the player is a gang member and has to kill other gang members and the police while completing different missions for the gang. I have made this moldboard to help me in the future when I begin to design the characters that I am going to put into my final product.

 

Chaos Vehicles Moodboard –

Here is another chaos moodboard, this one is based on vehicles that have a chaotic look and usage. This moodboard consists of different designs of off-road and weaponized vehicles that have been designed to cause chaos and death, A lot of these vehicles have been based on the mad max series where cars are used for battle, This moodboard is going to be useful if I decide to add vehicles to the final product as it will aid me in what the vehicle should look like and how it should act.
