Mechanic Moodboard –
Here is a moodboard on possible mechanics that I could possibly add to my game. This moodboards consists of photos and screenshots from games that have mechanics that I believe could be a good addition to my game “Sinners”. An example of some of these mechanics are different styles of gun statistics that give different guns different amounts of damage and have different fire-rates and ranges, There are also some AI ideas and tutorials. I like a lot of the designs of the weapon stats from Destiny and The division as I think some of the designs layouts as they are nicely presented and easy to understand. I do not like the design of the gun statistics from Battlefield and SAS zombie assault as the UI does not have nice graphics and are quite difficult to understand. This research is going to be useful when I am implementing some of the mechanics in this moodboard into my game and will give me ideas on what to make the UI look like.
Colour palette moodboard
Here is a moodboard for colour pallet ideas that I might be using in my game. This moodboard consists of different pallets of colours that I think might suit the game, The majority of these colours are some fairly dark shades of purples, greys, blacks and some primary colours, I believe that these colours would suit my game as it is supposed to be a violent and bloody game meaning a lot more reds will be used. The colour pallets that I like the most are the dark purples and reds because these are some of my personal favourite colours, I am not too happy about the oranges and greens because I personally do not like some of these colours. This moodboard is going to be useful when I begin designing some of the textures and models that i may need for my game, This will also be useful when I am making the particle effects for the guns and blood that will be needed.
Unreal Engine Tutorials
Here is a moodboard that I have made based on Unreal engine tutorials. This moodboard consists of screenshots, thumbnails and links from various youtube tutorials for the unreal engine. I have chosen these videos because they are easy to follow and understand and have helped me previously when I have been working with the unreal engine. This moodboard is going to help me when I begin my test pieces and begin to create the final product if I run into any unexpected issues, These moodboards are also going to help me to develop my skills working with the unreal engine which will benefit me in my education and in industry.
Similar Game Moodboard
Here is a moodboard that I have made on Pinterest of games. This moodboard consists of games that I believe are similar in playstyle to the game that I am hoping to create “Sinners”. All of these games have one main thing in common: the player is able to freely roam around and the map and kill whoever and whatever they want and earn money or fame. There are two game series in particular that I am going to look at and these are: Saints row and Infamous, I am going to be looking at these games because saint row have both gang members roaming the city and police that the player is able to kill and infamous has the standing meter that I want to include where the player gets different outcomes depending on if they are good or bad. This moodboard is going to be helpful to reference and generate some extra ideas whilst I am creating the game and help me to possibly design the AI to react simuarly.
